Are you a good candidate for Online Classes?
Do you like to read?
Do you attend classes on time, regularly?
Can you follow directions?
Do you consistently meet class deadlines?
Are you self-motivated?
Are you an independent learner?
Do you own a home computer?
Are you comfortable using a computer and the Internet?
If you said "
Yes
" to most of these, you are probably an excellent candidate to augment your campus based educational experience with online classes! Contact your Academic Advisor or Campus Registrar for more information.
What are Sessions?
Each semester is broken down into two sessions. Session I runs for the first 7 ½ weeks of the semester and Session II runs the second 7 ½ weeks of the semester with a two day break in between.
For example: Winter Session
Session I: January 9 – February 25
Session II: February 27 – April 14
Since our classes are only 7 ½ weeks long, the instructors cover the material twice as fast. You are learning 15 weeks worth of work in 7 ½ weeks. It is very important that you understand this because you will need to devote twice as much time to your Online class each week as you would for a campus based class.
Taking an Online class is like taking two classes at a time. So if you are taking 9 credit hours on campus and an Online class in Session I; for the first 7 ½ weeks of the semester it would be like you are taking 15 credit hours! (9 campus hrs. + 3 online hrs. x 2 = 15)
