
Instructional Technologist

Reports To: Dean of Instructional Technology
Location: Online Education (Orchard Park, NY)
Responsibilities:
- Create and design course content via course content software (SoftChalk, ANGEL)
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in developing course content, course outline, facilitator notes and multimedia for new or existing online courses
- Assist in the administrative management of the distance learning course management delivery systems and technology
- Analyze usability of software and make recommendations for instructional solutions
- Assist Online faculty with support of web technologies to enrich the asynchronous learning classroom
- Develop self-study training materials for online faculty and conduct synchronous webinars in the use of instructional technology for online instruction.
- Collaborate with other members within the Online Instructional department and within the college system on projects
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Distance Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology/Instructional Technology or related field.
- 2-3 years professional experience
- Demonstrated excellence in distance education, including facilitation, course development and design
- Experience in Learning Management Systems (ANGEL, Blackboard, E-College, Moodle, etc.)
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills, as well as ability to manage detail and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to forge supportive partnerships within and between departments
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, student success, and Online Education culture and values
