
Children’s College Evening Lead Teacher

Job Summary:
The Children’s College Lead Teacher has the responsibility to ensure the safe and caring management of all children entrusted to the minding center facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assist with hiring compassionate, trained and high caliber staff, monitoring the children in the daycare, setting schedules and lesson plans for the minding center, meeting with parents and keeping all parents informed of policies and procedures at the center. Since children are the most important and most precious aspect of the parent’s lives it is very important for the Children’s College Lead Teacher to keep the children’s health and well being first and foremost in their considerations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform duties in a manner that is congruent with the College’s vision, standards and ethics.
- Assist in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the billing and handling all accounts receivable and payable accounts and daily cash payments received.
- Daily cash received should be dropped in the Business Office drop box nightly.
- Plan and execute age appropriate classroom activities, assisting in the maintenance of a safe, healthy, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Provide constant supervision of children at all times including, planning time, outside play, mealtime, and naptime.
- Supervises and evaluates all other minding center staff.
- Responsible for monitoring and training all child care providers, and volunteers; also performs annual reviews and progress reports.
- Maintains sensitivity to children’s individuality and responds to those needs appropriately and quickly.
- Supervises and assists with meal/snack preparations and clean up.
- Maintains the highest level of professionalism with clients and co-workers at all times.
- Maintains direct, open and honest communication with the Senior Management Team.
- Ensure the correct number of staff at the minding center based on the number of children, and having appropriate and safe activities for children to participate in while at the center.
- Handles any complaints by staff or parents and co-workers to resolve these differences promptly and effectively for all parties.
- Advertises the minding center and keep records of the numbers and ages of all children daily attendance.
- Staff minding center for on-campus events and provide assistance as necessary.
- Other functions and responsibilities as assigned by the Business Office Director
Skills and Experince:
- Associates Degree in early childhood or related area, plus 3 years of related experiences. Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science Degree – Administrative Management strongly preferred.
- Experience in computer applications, including Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook. Maintain all records in computer files.
- Thorough knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Genuine interest and enjoyment of small children and the ability to stay calm in all situations and to respond to children in a quiet, reassuring manner.
- Possession of cognitive, organizational, and emotional abilities to deal effectively with multiple stressors, deadline, difficult situations and/or customer needs.
- Working knowledge of minding center routines and policies.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and work well within a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to stand 60% of the time, and the ability to lift children up to 35 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR and First Aid required.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with faculty, staff and students.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Must posses a drive for excellence.
