Military and Community Relations Director

Position Summary:
The Military and Community Relations Director serves as a member of the Virginia Beach Admissions Team and will be responsible for implementing the strategic direction of the Military Services and Community Relations Department to ultimately achieve Admissions goals and objectives, as well as campus goals and objectives, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the College. Through direct management of department operations, ensure that the relevant admissions and retention of military related students as well as students from business and government are achieved. The Director will be responsible for evaluating and implementing creative and effective strategies to improve promotional and recruitment opportunities. This person is responsible for establishing and maintaining a military friendly atmosphere at the Virginia Beach Campus. Externally, the Director will work in partnership with local veteran’s organizations, institutions of higher learning, businesses, and military units to provide information to veterans regarding their education benefits.  Through community relations, work closely with the Director of Admissions to maximize revenue and lead generation with outcomes that support the College’s overall goals. On a broader scope, the Military and Community Relations Director will take a Systems and Community approach to realizing the aforementioned initiatives. That is, all programs and projects will be styled consistently with Bryant & Stratton College’s system-wide strategic vision, and veteran messages will be driven by the needs of military service members in community.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  1. On-going design and implementation of plans to establish strategic relationships, both internally and externally.
  2. Conduct surveys and related feedback processes and effectively analyze and disseminate data to assist associates and departments in fulfilling the campus plan to attract students from the military as well as industry, business, and government agencies.
  3. Participate in, graduation committees, award ceremonies and promotional events as relationship development opportunities.
  4. Consult with the Virginia Beach Management team to develop communication strategies for issues management, associate communications, and external communication to stakeholders.
  5. Link activities to life-long learning opportunities for students.
  6. Initiate and cultivate employer and community relationships to generate business partnerships, meet revenue goals, advocacy, and opportunities for the College.
  7. Market all products of Bryant & Stratton College to employers and key organizations.
  8. Lead the coordination of market activities with the Admissions Department.
  9. Maintain an up-to-date database through CRM ensuring the integrity of all information reported is consistent with the policies and procedures of the campus and company.
  10. Complete administrative reports to include: relationship activity report, CRM activity, management reports, trend analysis, monthly summaries and other pertinent information as required.
  11. Communicate survey data to all associates and lead an action team to make adjustments in our program and services as needed.
  12. Represent the college at community functions when appropriate.
  13. Increase community awareness of the college through public relations activities with the goal of continuing to enhance the brand awareness of the college.
  14. Work with the Director of Admissions to maximize revenue and lead generation including the identification of alternative sources of leads.
  15. Identify opportunities for revenue and lead generation and maximization of all marketing efforts.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field and an honorably discharged veteran of the Armed Forces.
  2. Project management experience desired
  3. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  4. Ability to work with little or no supervision, to persuade & motivate staff and to work as a team player.

  1. Generation of leads from Military Related Students.
  2. Percentage of enrolled students related to the military.
  3. Generation of leads as a result of community relationships.
