The design of the Criminal Justice baccalaureate degree program enhances learning acquired in associate-level Criminal Justice degree programs through a rigorous study of Criminal Justice. This includes the study of ethics, as well as the variety of deviant and/or criminal behavior that contribute to crime. Students study the Criminal Justice administrative structure, which includes analysis of international, federal, state, and local agencies involved directly and indirectly in Criminal Justice. Students also examine the concept of crime through the study of the varied criminal activity that occurs in today’s society. Reading, writing, and critical thinking skills are rigorously applied and developed throughout the program of study. The program is designed to provide graduates with a balance of theory and practice that will enhance their preparation for the criminal justice field. Graduates of the program are prepared for employment in positions that include Police/detective, First-line supervisor, Manager of police/detectives, Fish and game wardens, Border agent, Homeland Security agent, Social worker, Social/human service assistant, Counselor, Parole officer/probation officer, and Correctional Treatment Specialist
