By B&SC Blog Team
Selecting a major can be a difficult task for college students. Especially when you take future employment opportunities into account.
Researching the short-and-long-term job outlook at a regional and national level can help you identify the majors you should avoid; and more importantly, the ones you should consider.
Yahoo! Finance recently published an article highlighting 10 occupations that the Bureau of Labor Statistics has identified as most likely to be the fastest growing over the next decade. Among the occupations expected to grow at a rapid rate over the next 10 years are Occupational Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapist Assistants, two careers that you can prepare for at Bryant & Stratton College.
Our Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree program introduces students to a variety of vital skills utilized in the occupational therapy field through a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. The in-depth program concludes with a comprehensive fieldwork requirement which puts students in real-world, clinical settings which they will encounter in their careers.
The OTA degree puts graduates on track to pursue jobs in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, day treatment centers and more. The very type of positions the BLS projects to grow so rapidly over the next 10 years.
Likewise, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree program prepares students for jobs in a variety of professional, clinical settings. This includes, but is not limited to clinics, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, private practices, home health agencies, schools and even athletic facilities.
Our PTA associate degree pairs classroom theory with integrated and terminal clinical experiences which encompass the type of scenarios graduates will encounter in the professional field. Graduates of the PTA degree will be eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Exam for PTAs.
Both the OTA and PTA degrees establish the foundation to pursue the job opportunities which are expected to flourish in the coming years. Combined with the support provided by our career services team, graduates of Bryant & Stratton’s PTA and OTA programs are set up for success.
