Men's Basketball Cracks Top-15 to Open Season

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has just ranked the Bryant & Stratton College Men’s Bobcats team as #14 on their 2015 Division 2 Pre-Season List of Men’s Basketball Ranking based on district predictions.

Last year, the Bobcat’s ended their regular season 22-7 overall, 15-4 in conference play and undefeated in all home games at 9-0. Under the guidance of former Head Coach Carlton Clemons, the Bobcat’s were nationally ranked #13, at year-end, on the NJCAA D2 Men’s Basketball Polls.

“We are excited about the preseason ranking”, says new Men’s Bobcats Head Coach Brian Graves, “but not satisfied and will work to achieve greater success and recognition”.

Graves, a Newport News native and Catawba College graduate, was officially named as Head Coach last August, and has played professional basketball both nationally and internationally. He has also previously held basketball coaching roles at Catawba College and Heritage High School.

The Men’s Bobcats 2015-16 basketball season will kick off November 6th with their first away game against CCBC-Catonsville in Baltimore, MD. In their first home game, the Bobcats will take on Guilford Tech Community College on November 14th at 3pm. All Bobcats home games take place at Maury High School in Norfolk.
