By B&SC Alumni Relations Team
When Carolina Gonzalez reflects on her journey from physical therapist assistant (PTA) student to practicing clinician, her enthusiasm for the field shines through. As a graduate of Bryant & Stratton College’s AAS Physical Therapist Assistant program, Carolina exemplifies how strong educational foundations can launch rewarding healthcare careers.
A Personalized Approach to Physical Therapy Education
Now working as a PTA, Carolina finds deep satisfaction in educating patients about physical therapy’s role in daily life. “Some of my favorite moments in this field have been when it all ‘clicks’ for a patient,” she explains. Her face lights up when describing those breakthrough moments – when patients suddenly understand the ‘why’ behind their treatment and witness their pain diminishing through targeted muscle strengthening.

What makes Carolina particularly effective in her role is her ability to inspire patients to take ownership of their health journey. This ripple effect of physical therapy education particularly energizes her work.
Future Aspirations in Physical Therapy
Looking ahead, Carolina maintains a growth mindset characteristic of healthcare professionals dedicated to excellence. While currently focused on developing her clinical expertise, she has her sights set on specialization in pelvic floor therapy. “This is a growing specialty, and I believe it is so important to women and men!” she notes, highlighting her commitment to addressing crucial but often overlooked areas of patient care.
Tips for Physical Wellness from a PTA
As a practicing clinician, Carolina emphasizes the critical importance of mobility in overall health. She advocates for a balanced approach to physical wellness, noting that while strength training often takes center stage, mobility work deserves equal attention. “Having a dynamic warm-up before working out is important to lessen your chance of injury!” she advises, drawing from both her professional expertise and practical experience.
