History in the making for the Lady Bobcats!

On Wednesday, the Lady Bobcats faced Mercyhurst NE in the Region III semi-final game. To start, game play was cautious. Both teams felt the trepidation of taking any type of risk, for fear of making a mistake in a playoff game. The Lady Bobcats shot first with an ice breaking goal scored by freshman, Kai Jacobs. The Saints fought hard to get back in to the game and tied things up with a score of 1 – 1. The girls kept their calm continuing to play their game, combining short ‘’one-two” style passes with long passes over the defenders backs. This strategy proved to be successful with the results on the scoreboard for the Lady Bobcats. They scored twice before the end of the half time leaving with a 3 – 1 game.

In the second half, the team knew exactly how to play to keep their two goal advantage. The Lady Bobcats cranked it up and scored their 4th goal. It then became clear; the Bryant & Stratton College Women’s Soccer team would be playing in the finals after a several year absence. The final whistle brought smiles and happiness on to the players faces.

Coach Grigorita had this to say about the win, “We played phenomenal! We had patience, we had desire, and we had the right mentality. This was a well-deserved victory. I would like to thank everyone for the positive energy and support this season.”

On Saturday, 10/26/13 @ 12:00, the Lady Bobcats will play in the Region III finals against Monroe CC in Rochester, NY.
