Lady Bobcats down but not out

A packed schedule, with back to back games, caused some issues for the Lady Bobcats who lost their last two games to HCC and OCC this past week.

On Saturday, the Lady Bobcats played nationally ranked Herkimer CC. Early in the first half, Herkimer CC was up 2-0. Amanda Belsito came to the rescue by tying up the game, scoring one goal with a penalty kick and the other by a long distance free kick. After the rally, the Lady Bobcats were unable to sustain the steam needed and succumbed to Herkimer in the second half. The final score was 2 – 4.

On Monday, the Lady Bobcats faced Onondaga CC. The perfect weather was not enough to energize the Lady Bobcats who seemed to have left what energy they had in their previous game. BSC was able to answer OCC’s early score with just 15 minutes left in the game. OCC came back to score two more times before the buzzer ending the game with a 2 – 4 score and another loss for the Lady Bobcats. “We did not have ‘fresh legs’ today, we were tired mentally and physically’’, said Coach Grigorita. “Soccer is a team sport, and only by playing as a team, can we make it through tough moments and be successful.”

Coach Alex Grigorita would like to thank all the people that came out to support the Lady Bobcats. The team would like to encourage more attendance at the games as they believe it is a great opportunity to showcase the schools team spirit, build unity and to create a positive environment at the College! Go Bobcats!!
