Bryant & Stratton College Henrietta Announces New Associates in Applied Science Degree in Nursing

Bryant & Stratton College in Henrietta has officially announced the launch of an Associates in Applied Science degree in Nursing (ADN) to be offered starting the September 2021 academic term. Now open for enrollment, students that pursue the new nursing program will receive immersive, hands-on skills training in the campus’ state of the art nursing lab. The College’s ADN program joins a growing list of healthcare degrees offered in the Rochester market, including a BS in Health Services Administration and AAS programs in Medical Assisting, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Reimbursement & Coding and Occupational Therapy Assistant. This program is the second nursing program for the College in New York State (Syracuse). The College also has well established nursing programs with strong outcomes in Wisconsin, Ohio and Virginia.

To lead the program, Bryant & Stratton has hired Catherine Magowan, MSN, RN to serve as the program director. A licensed RN for over 26 years, Magowan’s most recent experience includes teaching anatomy and physiology, nursing fundamentals and medical-surgical nursing, in both the classroom and clinical settings. Her notable accomplishments include the development of hands-on, experiential clinical programs and developing educational industry presentations for conferences hosted by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

“This past year highlighted the critical role that nurses play in providing skilled and compassionate medical care for those in need,” says Magowan, MSN, RN. “Through the introduction of the associates degree RN program, we look forward to fostering the learning and development of the next generation of dedicated and career-ready nurses to fill vital roles in our healthcare systems.”

Offering a complete degree pathway through one college from start to finish, students will have the ability to earn their degree with eligibility to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam in just 16 months. In alignment with the College’s continued emphasis on academic flexibility and convenience, nursing students will be given the option of completing their liberal arts requirements in the College’s signature Blended Learning (combining an online classroom experience with face-to-face instruction), or online. The College has been offering online learning since the ’90s, and today has more than 25 online degrees available to students.

Those interested in applying can review the program application now available on the Bryant & Stratton College admissions page at https://www.bryantstratton.edu/degrees/associate-degrees/aas-adn-nursing-ny.

The nursing program is registered and accredited by the Office of College and University Evaluation New York State Education Department.
