Bryant & Stratton College to Offer Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program at Wauwatosa Campus

WAUWATOSA, Wisc. (February 11, 2015) – Bryant & Stratton College continues its mission to offer degrees based on industry demand with the introduction of a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program for Wisconsin. The college was granted approval by the Wisconsin Education Approval Board and the Board of Nursing to create the program, which will be offered at its Wauwatosa campus.

Beginning this week, students can enroll for the spring 2016 semester, which begins on May 4. The program’s director says the new offering will help fulfill the demand for registered nurses (RNs) with bachelor’s degrees in southeastern Wisconsin.

“Employment surveys indicate the need for nurses will increase significantly in the next four years due to current workforce retirements,” said Dr. Linda Krueger, Dean of Nursing at Bryant & Stratton College. “Regional employers are focusing their hiring efforts on BSN-prepared nurses to meet their industry’s recommendation to achieve a 20 percent BSN workforce in the near future. Because of this great need, we are proud to offer no waiting lists or petition processes for this program.”

Demand for registered nurses is booming not only locally, but nationally as well. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment is expected to grow 16 percent through 2024, a rate much faster than average. Additionally, U.S. News and World Report listed RNs as the 22nd best job for 2016. Median pay is more than
