By B&SC News Team
For 170 years, Bryant & Stratton College has been sharing its passion for education by offering students access to career-relevant opportunities. To celebrate its commitment to the community, Mayor Donnie Tuck will kick off Bryant & Stratton College’s July 24 Health and Wellness Resource Fair with a proclamation speech at 10:30a.m. nodding to its long-standing dedication. This free event is open to the public Wednesday, July 24 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Hampton Campus, located in the Peninsula Town Center at 5030 Kilgore Avenue.
“We are thrilled to have Mayor Tuck by our side as we celebrate this monumental milestone and the next chapter of Bryant & Stratton College,” said Eric Harrell, State Director of Marketing & Communications, Virginia Colleges, Bryant & Stratton College. “Our longevity is credited to our success in creating and offering educational programs to meet the specific and changing needs of students and employers, and the immense community support we continue to receive, year after year.”
At the fair, attendees will be able to receive free health screenings such as blood pressure and diabetes checks, provided in participation by the Bryant & Stratton College student medical club, as well as participate in a community blood drive. The event will also provide complimentary food and refreshments, as well as host a series of games, raffles and giveaways.
Outside of the health and wellness initiatives, participants will be able to tour the campus as well as meet instructors to learn about Bryant & Stratton College’s sound approach to helping students reach their goals. Attend and also get the opportunity to:
- Connect with admissions, career service advisors, and instructors to learn about degree programs
- Tour Bryant & Stratton College’s exclusive onsite Children’s Center facility
- Obtain information on taking the next step in life to a better career
- Speak with financial aid experts who can help identify and discuss ways to fund education
The Hampton Campus offers more than 20 academic programs including Nursing, Medical Assisting, Accounting, Business, Information Technology, Human Resources, Early Childhood Education and more.
New to the Hampton and Virginia Beach campuses in the fall of 2019 is the launch of Bryant & Stratton College’s Esports program. As of January 2019, Bryant & Stratton College was the sixth college in Virginia to offer Esports as part of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), which serves as the governing body to more than 100 colleges and universities, setting standards for eligibility and conduct for collegiate eSports.
The college plans to offer co-ed Esports teams that will hold full-size rosters. To compliment the program, the Hampton Campus has created a 500-square foot Esports Lab where the team will practice and compete. The lab features 15 high-end gaming computers, gaming bays, and consoles. The gaming center will be open to all students and staff during designated hours.
