Earning a Medical Administrative Assistant Associate Degree with Bryant & Stratton College is a best bet for launching a successful career as a Medical Receptionist. While requirements vary from one state to another, many states require graduation from an accredited program to qualify to perform some of the duties expected of employees in this position. Students learn computer and informational skills specific to the healthcare setting and administrative skills related to the processing and management of information. Students also gain skills in the organization and design of communication procedures. Emphasis is placed on professional interpersonal skills, ensuring the ability of graduates to interact appropriately with diverse patients/clients with a solid knowledge of medical, legal and ethical issues, and written, verbal and electronic communication skills. 

Additional Training/Requirements

Applying for positions in virtually any healthcare setting generally requires passing background checks and drug tests. Work experience requirements can be fulfilled in many cases through an internship program.
